VR Retail environments
I deliver classes and workshops for Visual Merchandising students at University of the Arts London, on how to create virtual retail environments. The students learn Google Sketchup so that they are able to rapidly construct 3D models, mostly using assets from the Google 3D Warehouse. I then work with them to customise the materials and textures, and adjust surface normals ready for export to Unity. Within Unity, lighting, skybox, environment, music, and video elements are added. I will then configure the scene, applying the appropriate scripts and packages, to prepare it for virtual reality using the HTC Vive. I configure the appropriate colliders, cameras, controllers, navigation and interactions for specific objects.
I have prepared and facilitated these VR Retail environments for audience interaction at yearly public showcases and exhibitions for UAL, including completing any required Risk Assessments.
